Thalapathy Vijay gets Y level security with 8 person entourage due to THIS reason

Thalapathy Vijay is preparing for his grand farewell to the big screen with his upcoming film Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth. With the film’s first look already creating a lot of buzz, fans are eagerly anticipating the chance to see their beloved star light up cinemas for one last time. However, alongside the excitement surrounding the film, recent reports indicate that the actor has significantly increased his security.

Vijay, also a politician, has been provided with a ‘Y’ scale security cover, which includes an eight-person security team. Two members of this team will be commandos, while the remaining individuals will be police personnel. This enhanced security measure is reportedly exclusive to Tamil Nadu.

Further reports suggest that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has assigned Vijay a heightened security detail, which includes 24/7 protection from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a Personal Security Officer (PSO). Armed personnel have also been stationed at his residence in Tamil Nadu. This increase in security follows intelligence assessments, which prompted the government to take precautionary measures, according to Times Now.

Vijay, who launched his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) last year, is reportedly intensifying his political activities ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. Speculation is rife that he is planning a statewide roadshow later this year as part of his efforts to strengthen his party ahead of the elections.

While Vijay has set his sights on a full-time political career, he has one final film to complete—Jana Nayagan. Directed by H. Vinoth and starring Pooja Hegde in the lead role, this film will be Vijay’s last big-screen appearance before he dedicates himself entirely to his political ambitions. The first look of Jana Nayagan, unveiled on January 27, features Vijay in his signature style—striking a powerful pose while taking a selfie with a crowd of adoring fans.

Vijay’s previous release, The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu, performed exceptionally well at the box office, adding to the anticipation surrounding his upcoming farewell film.
